  1. If you’re asking for the capital, it’s Mexico city.

However, if it’s not a typo, and you did mean to ask for the location of the Mexican Capitol, the building where the Mexican legislature holds its formal sessions, then you first have to consider that the Mexican legislature is split into two: the Senate and the Deputies (Diputados). These “sections” of the Mexican Congress meet in two separate buildings, so there is no one Mexican Capitol (as there is, for example, in the U.S.).

The Senate is near historic downtown, in what originally was the Seminary of Santa Ana, a very old, very nice building that has served a number of functions. It has been colloquially known as “la Casona de Xicoténcatl” (the Mansion on Xicoténcatl, the street next to it). This building is located at the corner of Donceles and Xicoténcatl, in a little public square.

The Deputies seat in the “Palacio de San Lázaro”, a building built specifically to hold the Mexican Congress after they outgrew their previous seat at the old Mexico City Theater in downtown. This building is located at Av. Congreso de la Union, right across from the TAPO bus terminal.
