  1. Depends on where it is being played. They vary in size - one of the oddities of the game.

    For example the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) dimensions are 174m x 149m.

    This is one of the largest grounds.

    There are many 1000's of smaller ovals all throughout the country that local suburban sides play on and their sizes are many and varied


  2. The Foty  field, which may be 135-185m long and 110-155m wide. The centre square is 40x40. The curved fifty metre line is 50m away from the goal line. Adjacent goal posts are 6.4 metres apart.
