What's the chance of the German basketball team on beating the USA basketball team?

i know my favorite player dirk nowitzki and his german squad will have a tough time on their group! but i will still believe that they can make it!

The German team really doesn't have much else besides Dirk.  i think their struggle will not so much be on the offensive side of the ball- as it will be on the defensive side.  

Dirk is a great player- but just in the bracket that the Germans are in- Spain and Greece are talked about as the real threats to the USA and not team Germany.  Team Germany may have a chance to make the top 4 in the bracket- which would put them in the quarterfinals-- and so in that way it may be an advantage having played the Americans once- if they can learn something from that game- although the converse of that is -- if they are beaten badly or if the US holds back.  

i don't see Germany in the quarterifnals and definitely not in the medal rounds- but it would be quite an accomplishment for them to make it.
