What's the cheapest car rental place in San Diego?

I just wrecked my car and now need a rental car as I work out getting a new ride. Which car rental place in San Diego is the cheapest place to get an economy car at?

You can get an economy car in San Deigo for less than $110 per week, if you go through http://www.hotwire.com

I've just checked there for you, and the lowest price they had on an economy car was $107.50 from Enterprise.  There were also economy cars from Thrifty and Dollar for about $1 more per week.  

I doubt very much that you can do much better than that (which is only about $13/day for unlimited miles), so check them out, because it can serve as a baseline. If you do find something for less, all the better, but at least don't pay any more than that.

By the way, you specifically said you want an economy car.  If you decide to go one step up to the Compact car class, Hotwire's prices are pretty much the same (plus or minus a dollar for the week), so you can consider that as well.

One more thing:  you should ask your insurance company if they have a discount contract with any of the car rental places.  If they do, that can be a very good deal (but probably not better than Hotwire.)

Your best bet is to check a few local companies (off airport rentals are usually cheaper)  If you will only need it for a few days, a weekend rental will give you the best rate, otherwise look for some weekly specials.   Also, check to see if you have any discount memberships (like Costco,Sam's Club,AAA, etc) you can use to discount your rate.
