  1. One of the cheapest would be the train as long as you dont have a done of luggage. Some of the train stations are had to use if you are carring a lot of stuff. I sometimes have problems with just a stroller.

  2. the train, as long as you don't travel on EUROSTAR and INTERCITY trains which have supplements but of course they are better than the local trains (that stop at all places) because the journey is shorter besides the EUROSTAR is more comfortable.

Try compare prices of the different trains in the required journeys on

    www.trenitalia.com

  3. One of the cheapest and most convenient ways to travel in Italy is on the trains. From Milan to Venice, the 2nd class ticket price ranges from euro 12.90 for a regional train (approx 3.5 hours) to euro 24.00 for an Intercity train (approx 3 hours) , to euro 27.00 for a Eurostar train (approx 2.5 hours) . The difference in the trains is the travel time, number of stops, and comfort.

The 2nd class price between Venice and Florence is euro 21.50 for Intercity Plus or euro 30.00 for Eurostar service. You could go a little cheaper if you take a regional train to Bologna and transfer to another to Florence, but I would recommend the convenience of the direct train.

Prices from Florence to Rome range from euro 14.90 for a regional train to euro 33.00 for a Eurostar.
