I have looked at the Eurostar (around $300+) and British Airways and Air France are also pretty expensive when you think it only takes an hour! Has anyone gone Paris to London for cheaper????

  1. The cheapest way to get from Paris to London is on the eurolines bus.

  2. Take the bus... it's a long trip, but it's a whole lot cheaper... When you get to the main bus station in London, you need to switch to the metro for the trip to Heathrow... I think it's the 'purple line'.

  3. It'll be a pain, but you can take a flight on ryanair.com - they are pretty cheap but they only fly out of airports that are a bit out of the way (to keep down on cost).

You can take a train to Paris Beauvais airport and fly into either London Gatwick or London Stansted and then take a train to Heathrow.

I know it's not the most convenient, but it's cheaper.

  4. I don't know why you were quoted such a high price for Eurostar. Even first class tickets can be had for less than that.

I usually pay €77 for a round trip second class, that's about $90.

But Eurostar has become more popular with the problems in air traffic and they have reduced the quotas of cheap tickets. You have to book early to get the cheap deals and it also helps if you are flexible on your times. Book via the web sites rather than a travel agent and you can check availability.

I fly when I wasn't quick enough for the Eurostar tickets. Easyjet is a much nicer airline than Ryanair. It flies to Gatwick and Luton, which are both much more convenient for central London. Again, it pays to book early.
