What's the cheapest way to send books from the UK to the USA?

I have a small library I want to send to the U.S. when we relocate, but Royal Mail and Parcel Force seem exhorbitant--around £45 - 50 for a single 5kg. package by surface book rate! Are there any economy shippers who will do small-sized shipments for affordable rates?
