What's the closest town to Houston Texas where it snows???

Ruidoso is definately the closest but it's worth the extra milage to go to Taos. All of my European friends in Houston go there in the Winter because it reminds them of Switzerland. They have all levels of skiing and a great kid's ski school. Oh, and incredible moguls!

Ruidoso or Taos, New Mexico for sure.  There's no place in the State of Texas that has both sufficient snow and sufficient incline for a ski run.

It does occasionally snow in Dallas and the Panhandle, but if you are talking about skiing, then probably New Mexico (like around Raton).
