What's the connection between dreams and reality?

I've always wondered what my dreams meant and if they were just randon or actually relivent to what was going on in my life.

Last night i had a very bizarre dream. I was in my french class from last year and found this dirty jacket. I left the class to clean it up and came back and everyone was mad at me. I started swaring and going insane and acting like a complete witch. Which is not like me at all, im pretty passive aggressive.

Does that mean anything?

  1. usually dreams are a weird mixture of stuff going on in your life at the time, then thrown together in a dream

  2. Stepping out of line.

You feel like you are going in a different direction than most people that had the same education as you. You have put the care of others (house wife even?) before the reason why you did that study.

You feel the peer pressure that you should have done at least something, like you neglected your future. But in the same thought you defend the life you chose with a vengeance.

    Does that sound about right?

  3. there are morals in dreams.

if you track all your dreams and pay close attention to all of them then you will notice they all have some kind of meaning/moral.

  4. Well, I have had dreams which seem very random at first, but upon pondering them I find that they were connected to my day/week.

    For example:

I had a dream one night, in which I was on my laptop when I saw this toy with straight arms move. I freaked out, ran downstairs and saw that my memory cards had gone.

    So, when I analysed it:

    1. I had found this toy today in my cupboard. I had binned it without thinking.

    2. I had been playing my laptop just before I had gone to bed.

    3. My memory cards disappearing has always been a silly fear of mine.

So I believe that, from this evidence, that your brain picks up subliminal things and plays them back, in the form of a dream. Obviously what happened to you was you had heard excessive swearing that day, and maybe you had a passing thought about French that day too.

    Hope this helps!

  5. your anger in the dream might mean actual repressed anger in your real life. im not so sure about the class thing but it is pretty common among teenagers. but i do know that violence in any dream means feelings of anger in real life.
