If I ordered two "frappuccini," would the barista think I'm a pretentious nitwit?

  1. Frappuccino isn't a real word, it was actually made up by Starbucks as a combo of frappe and capuccino.

    Trishalynn was totally wrong about that. If you were to go to Italy and expect frappuccino to be a real word, you'd look like an idiot.

    Anyway, at work you're technically supposed to say "Frappuccino blended coffee(s)/creme(s)" but we usually just say frappuccinos, since adding an "s" isn't incorrect b/c it's not a real word.

    So if you were to order two "frappuccinis" the barista would probably think that you had no idea what you were ordering, or didn't take the time to read the menu board.

    Play it safe and say "frappuccinos" :)

    :)

  2. I would personally say frappuccinos.  The starbucks website only seems to refer to them as "Frappuccino beverages" using the second word as the plural, so there probably is no "proper" word for them.

  3. Since it's an italian word, then yes the correct term would probably be frappuccini. But this is America and people know very little about the world outside this country and would most likely have no idea what you were talking about. However if you go to italy they'll look at you like like your stupid if you ask for 2 frappuccinos.

  4. i would think 2 frappuccinos....

  5. frappuccinos

  6. frappucinos?

    Rhino -> Rhinos!

    Rhino -/-> Rhini?
