What's the correct: "speak with me" or "speak to me"?

Both of them would be correct?

That depends of the situation?

I've seen both, I can understand the context but I don't know where the difference is exactly.

Examples of usage:

Come speak with me when you are ready to discuss what happened.

She did not speak to me regarding the situation.

Speak with me =  You and I would talk.

Speak to me = Only you would talk.

Both are correct....  but they are used differently.

Both mean relatively the same thing. Speak to me is less commonly used, because speak with me implies a conversation.

i believe "speak to me" would reference someone just telling you something...

"speak with me" would be an actually engagement in conversation between the both of you. either is acceptable, just depends on what context.

your teacher speaks TO you when he lectures.  When you speak WITH your friend then you are speaking WITH.  No I am not shouting but showing the different in words and meanings.

Speak to me is the correct one. TO speak with you, both parties would have to be speaking and thats not a conversation that two people interrupting each other.
