Question:

What's the correct way to wax your upper lip?

This would be my first time waxing so I just want to make sure I'm doing this right. Can you guys like explain the whole waxing procedure. Thanks

  1. I prefer Nad's Facial Wand, but any wax you want to use will do.  First off, make sure your face is clean (no makeup).  If you want, tap some baby powder on the area you are going to wax in order to catch the hairs easier.  

    Using the Wand or the spatula that comes in your wax kit, apply a thin layer of wax to the hair in the direction it grows (on the lip it would be down and maybe a little diagonal).  Make sure that the skin is stretched by holding your mouth open or by using your other hand.  If your wax kit comes with a strip, then place it over the wax in the same direction you applied the wax.  You may need to rub your finger over the strip if you are using a no-heat wax.

    Finally, making sure your skin is stretched, pull the strip/wax off in the opposite direction you put it on.  Do it quickly.

    Only do one side of your lips at a time.
