What's the correlation between Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile?

I was just curious because besides the same soundtrack why are these two games grouped together? They have no story relation although Star Ocean 3 does have a Lenneth cameo appearance.

The "Star Ocean" series and the "Valkyrie Profile" series are created by the same designers (Tri-Ace). Tri-Ace likes to put characters from different series into games, always as extras or bonuses. As you mention, Star Ocean 3 has Lenneth (as well as Freya). If you play Radiata Stories (another game by these designers), you can fight Lezard Valeth and Valkyrie.

In all of the games, as far as I know, Gabriel Celesta and the Ethereal Queen appear (although their names sometimes get butchered - in Star Ocean: The Second Story, I think she was called the Iselia Queen). But long story short, all of these games are made by the same designers, and they do this is a sort of bonus feature. There is no story relation that I have found between any of them.
