My wedding is in 3 weeks and I'm thinking about soldering my band and engagement rings together. Does anyone know about how much it costs (in the US) and about how long I should expect it to take? If it matters, I will be going to Zales

  1. To get mine soldered together they were free since I both my wedding set from there. I think that the place charged $35 to get them done if you had bought them somewhere else. Mine took 1 day to get it done and back to me. So not bad at all. One of my friends got hers done at Zales and it was free since thats where she got her rings at and I think it took her a week or 2 to get them soldered together and cleaned and back.

  2. That depends on the jeweler. You can't generalize the costs of independent contractors.

  3. it should be free at zales. i got my engagement ring and wedding band at JB Robinson, which is a place in the mall just like Zales, and they soldered mine togther for free. i had to drop my rings off and then pick it up about 1 week later.

edit: i'm adding this later after reading the answer below me - i wouldn't worry about getting them soldered.. my jewelry store told me they can always unsolder them if i ever wanted or needed them to. i personally plan on wearing my rings for the rest of my life, i don't plan on 'upgrading' like she said her sister did, so i know i won't need them unsoldered, but it is an option.

  4. Most places it is free if you purchase at least one band from there but I would advise against getting them stuck together. My sister did this and then when her husband upgraded her ring for their anniversary she was stuck with what to do with her other set.
