Question:

What's the deal with Fish Flies being EVERYWHERE? How do I get rid of them?

I live in Niagara Falls (Canada) and there is Fish Flies everywhere... they're on my windows, my house, my car... EVERYTHING!! and they're so gross... I live fairly close to water too... that probaly has something to do with it... but how do I get them to go away?

  3. Good news: the local water is of good quality or else you wouldn't have fishflies, since they need good water in order to breed and such.

    But yes, since you're close to the water, you'll have that problem.  

    Make sure you keep doors and windows closed as much as possible.  If you have screens for your doors and windows, make sure there aren't any holes in them so that no insect can get through.  Fishflies are more attracted to aquatic plants, so house-cleanliness shoudn't be too much of an issue.  If you like to go fishing, fishflies are very good bait.  

    You may be able to reduce the number of fishflies through commercial fly-strips and using one of those fly-light lamps (bug-zappers).
