What's the deal with airport luggage?

I know your allowed to bring a bag on the airport that contains your travel documents and personal things etc. then your allowed a checked baggage that you register. is there another luggage you can take on the plane to store.

As of a week or so ago, many airlines in the US will charge you for any checked baggage, it may depend on when you bought your ticket. You should check the website of the airline you're flying on, baggage restrictions and charges will vary from airline to airline and whether you're flying internationally or domestically.
