  1. The main reason is that atmospheric weather systems have continued to be unusually strong this spring...with cold low pressure systems persistently coming off the northeastern Pacific Ocean and across the northern part of the U.S.  These have pushed unseasonably strong cold fronts across much of the country and have had strong mid-level wind fields, which in turn have been making thunderstorms particularly strong.  It's an unusual pattern, but not unprecedented.

  2. Welcome to global warming...Since the polar ice caps are melting, more freshwater is leaking into the Atlantic ocean.  There's this current in the Atlantic Ocean, known as a conveyer belt that's been driving our weather for tens of thousands of years.  Since fresh water is melting into the ocean, the conveyer belt is being disrupted, so that's why we've having all this freaky weather.  If we do nothing to stop global warming, the conveyer belt can shut down in as early as 100 years.  If you watch the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" you'll get an idea what I'm talking about; but it cannot happen within days; the movie is very exaggerated and bogus.

  3. Its possible because of all the crappy stuff going on in the world.

My teacher told me that its mostly because of global warming and Antarctica's ice breaking of.

WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE LOL

  4. don't believe the global warming answers, these answers are all from ignorant people, except the first answer!  global warming will take place over thousands of years slowly, if it even happens at all! the earth goes through cycles, it also isn't la Nina or El lino.  it is still spring, the peak season for tornadoes, floods are overdue in the Midwest, except parts of Wisconsin where i heard its happened twice in one year, but maybe its god telling us something, but don't believe global warming, it may be true although it is over exaggerated by scientists to help promote a healthy earth, which I'm all for,
