I've checked all over and can't find how long health coverage lasts from a former employee for the state of Pennsylvania? Any ideas?

  1. If you resigned/terminated it is 18 months from the date you select to be enrolled with a maximum enrollment of 36 months.

Your employer has to notify you of Cobra within 14 days of your last day worked...have they?

  2. In Pennsylvania Cobra May not be needed because Pennsylvania is one of the states (along with Texas, Utal, S carolina, Washington, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Alaska,Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky to name a dozen of the 27 states) that have a state health pool for those individuals who would not health qualify for individual plans

  3. 18 months.  IF you pay the premium monthly.  Less, if you don't pay the premium.  And they won't send you late notices or cancellation notices, until after the coverage is cancelled, and there isn't any grace period for making the payments.

  4. COBRA is a federal guideline that overrides any state laws. Generally, you will have 18 months of coverage unless you are determined disabled by Social Security (in which case you are eligible for another 11 months or until you recieve medicare) or have a second qualifying event during the first 18 months of COBRA coverage.
