What's the deal with the red flag and the collingwood cheer squad?

After medhurst kicked that last goal the collingwood cheer squad pulled out some red flag and started waving it around, was it meant to mean something? Geelong were still in front nd i didnt see a gold jacket so it couldnt hav meant game over.

The red flag is to tell everyone that when Collingwood win, they gotta to sing the club song really slow! (Sounds stupid, but thats actually what it's for)
