  1. A law is a specific statement of scientific fact, often in the form of an equation.

A theory is a body of scientific knowledge about a subject. The theory of gravity includes Newton's law of universal gravitation: F= GMm/r^2. It also includes portions of Einstein's theory of general relativity.

A hypothesis is a testable proposition, which one attempts to prove or disprove via experiment or observation, or a tentative theory which needs further confirmation.
