What's the diff between DVD-R & DVD+R?

Their exactly the same but totally different

There's a good article about it at this link, beware it gets messy. Basically both use different technologies, with DVD+Rs designed for greater compatibility among DVD players (if I remember correctly).

One was supposed to be more geared towards media, like movies, music etc and the other i think was just data.

In my opinion i have never seen any differences, i have burned movies onto both, same with music and data. I have never physically noticed a difference between the two.

Just make sure your DVD burner can use both formats.
