Berbatov comes on as sub and despite it been obvious he wants to move club he gets a standing ovation, Ade on the other hand who has signed a new contract, got booed from a small section near where I was sitting.

Have you ever or would you ever boo a player wearing your clubs colours? if they leave on bad terms and then returned with another club to your ground then fair enough but not while they are wearing your colours surely.

  1. no never i mean like carolyn said only ex arsenal players maybe! but it would have to be one helluva reason for me too boo! i think its completely childish to do that! has no meaning but i won't say it has no affect becuz it does!

  2. I must sit near you, I heard the booing but didn't join in even though I understand it. He only signed a new contract after he couldn't get more money elsewhere. He thinks he's as good as Henry but wastes so many chances. As for those from the Lane their scared he'll leave, he's the only good player they've got.

    Edit

Hi mate, I'm in block 6 right next to red action. They do make noise which is welcome but they do seem to think they're the only fans who care. The booing of Adebayor didn't come from them. They did start a chant for him but very few wanted to join in. I' ve never booed an Asenal player but sometimes you do wonder if they understand how lucky they are.

  3. too your original question i am a rugby fan, but about 5,000 gbp in wages because you have too pay so much for a season ticket ooer and a stasle meat pie ooer......

  4. I booed El Hadji Diouf at Anfield on a number of occasions. The whole kop end booed him at one match I remember. In fact, Liverpool fans will boo any player they don't see putting in the required effort. But I would never boo a player until they'd actually left, because you and I both know how influential the media is and how they can make a mountain out of a mole hill. You never know what's really going on behind the scenes.

  5. Behind you 110% on this. I am sickened to hear that our fans have been negative to a player wearing the famous red & white - this is NOT a part of Arsenal Football Club's character and all GENUINE fans should know this.

I've always been worried that our success would attract the kind of glory-seeking fans that demand instant results and constant entertainment without they themselves putting in the support and faith that a real fan commits themselves to does.

These idiots are taking the place of the thousands of REAL fans out there that can't get tickets, and are not true Arsenal fans as they do not understand the ethics of being a Gooner. If they did, they would not behave in such a way...

  6. Your right. Spurs fans i think appreciate what berbatov has done for them. Im a spurs man and obviously im gutted he wants to go but thats life. He can win major trophies with utd or barca so of course h**l want to leave if they want him.

Adebayor is a brilliant player and the arsenal fans were so quick to turn  their backs on him. Its only a majority of them though as some of my mates are gooners and love him!

  7. Id never boo a current Arsenal player, ive booed an Ex Arsenal player many times before (Ashley Cole) purely for the reasons after he left, and the disrespect he showed towards Arsenal.

As for Ade being booed, it was the same when i was at The Emirates Cup, a very small minority did boo him, but most didnt, but as usual blown out of proportion by the scum media, the way they put it in the press the next day was as if EVERYONE was booing Ade and baying for his blood!!

I think even that small minority shall in time stop booing him,  once the season progresses and he's scoring goals, thats all that matters.

As for Berbatov, well thats Spurs supporters for you! No really, i think he's made it clear in no uncertain terms that he wants to go, so perhaps the supporters think, thank him (cheering him) for what he has done for Spurs, before he does go, which could be any day now. Could be a diffenrent reception for him once he has left and has to play again at White Hart Lane, then no doubt the boo boys will then  be loud and clear!

  8. they are rivals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  9. I wouldn't boo a player in a Man Utd shirt, but i certainly won't cheer for him either...

  10. Yep I saw that. He went clean through on goal but only to miss the goal from 10 yards. I was at home watching from the TV I heard a bit of booing after that. He just needs to score a few goals and do his magic like last season, I am behind him all the way.

  11. i remember the stretford end booing gary pallister shortly after his £2.6million move from middlesboro, and calling him a prick, i was in awe and disbelief, short answer i could never boo a player sporting uniteds colours unless it was blatantly obvious he wasn't trying and if i could see that well then surely the boss would also be able to see it and he would be dragged off !

  12. no,if anything,i think its unfair that adebayor gets booed

there have been some allegations that he is after the money and wanted to move to ac milan yet he didnt so there is absolutely no reason that we should boo him

    i really dont understand it

players like ronaldo deserve to be booed for showing disrespect to their clubs

on the other hand, adebayor is still an arsenal player without feeling any guilt (or at least i think so lol) so he gets my support for sure

  13. Definitely. Just 'cos they're wearing your club's colours means they're exempt from criticism? That's bollocks, mate.

  14. Spurs fans are notoriously fickle, so the question is flawed in that respect.

Ade has been an idiot, and has paid a price. The main reason for not getting on players backs is that it is highly counter-productive, especially for confidence players like Adebeyor (and 2 seasons ago Hleb, absurdly).

He needs an early goal run and it'll all be forgotten. Can't think of many who wouldn't have taken £30m for him though!

  15. i see the thumbs down brigade are out again ..evenin tel i agree with ya .. the lad decided to stay so he should be welcomed with open arms...

  16. i think that is the general idea, some fans dont follow blindly but can whinge a bit too much. berba did get some stick from a few fans.

  17. The difference is that some Arsenal supporter can outplay most Spurs players.

  18. I would boo Adebayor if he had personally stated he wanted to leave and if he was having a negative effect on the team and wasn't interested on the pitch. However, he is still passionate when he plays at Arsenal and so he doesn't deserve to be booed.

Bebatov, however is the complete opposite so I don't blame Spurs fans for booing his constant lack of interest. Besides Spurs don't have much to cheer about so booing someone whether on their team or a rivals teams seems their only option.

  19. spurs fans are dogs and arsenal fans are cats.  dogs will chase a stick all day cos theyre too dumb to feel anything other than grateful to be able to chase a stick.  cats are far more savvy than that
