  1. The Anglicans separated from the Catholic Church.

  2. The Anglicans do have confirmation but it's a little different to the Catholic's version.

  3. One is Protestant and one is Catholic. The Catholic Church has 7 Sacraments including the True Presence of Christ our Lord, the Anglicans do not.

  4. One centres around Canterbury and the other around the Vatican.

  5. One honors the pope, the other the Archbishop of Canterbury.  A true believer honors the Savior YAHOSHUA.

  6. "What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)

Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.

Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):

By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.

There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.

A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

    With love in Christ.

  7. The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ.  The Anglican Church was founded by Henry VIII.

  8. It was one Church, and the Church of England (Anglican) split from Rome; most would say for political reasons.  The reformers used this opportunity to effect changes in the Church.  Then, there was a catholic revival and it seesawed back and forth for centuries; however, it still remains separated from Rome.  Some Catholics, and others, believe that it is not a true apostolic or catholic Church.  Some High Church Anglicans and Anglo Catholics might like to bridge the gap with Rome, others push for more protestant doctrine.  The Eucharistic service is very much like the RC Mass, and a lot of the liturgy is very much the same.  Much of the liturgy used in the Anglican world can be traced back to the Book of Common Prayer, which borrowed from RC rites, with some changes.

  9. Catholics are a type of Christian. Catholics have the Eucharist (the RISEN JESUS!) on our altars during Mass and in our tabernacles.

We also believe in devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary:

The fifteen promises of Mary to Christians who recite the rosary:

    1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.

    2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.

    3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against h**l, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

    4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

    5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.

    6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become worthy of eternal life.

    7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.

    8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in Paradise.

    9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.

    10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit high degree of glory in Heaven.

    11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.

    12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

    13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour of death.

    14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ.

    15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

    God bless!

    Fred

  10. The Catholic Church is universal...the Anglican Church is not.

  11. The Catholic Church is the oldest religion in the western world. Its history traces back almost two thousand years ago. We believe that the Pope  is the successor to St. Peter. The pope has the supreme authority over the Church, and he speaks upon the infallibly of faith and morals alone.

We follow Jesus' teachings and our trust in God's promised eternal life with Him, after we die. Catholics also ordain only celibate men (single)to the priesthood - it's sort of like a pyramid -  the Pope is at the top, cardinals, archbishops, bishops, priests and and then the laity (regular men and women).

The Anglican aka The Church of England.

Anglicans are different from Catholics in our beliefs. They do not believe in the infaliabity of the pope, who is not the head of their church - priests are not single or male. The Anglican's also do not practice the rite of Reconcilliation (confession), they do not believe in Transubstantiation (the changing of bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ), they believe only in Baptism and the Eucharist for sacraments, whereas we believe in seven - Baptism, Reconclliation, Eucharist, Confirmation, Holy Orders, Marriage, and Annointing of the Sick.

Their main beliefs are as follows:

    1) the Bible contains the core of all Christian faith and thought

    2) Their loyalty to a way of worship and life was supposedly first in the Book of Common Prayer.

    3) They celebration of the sacraments ordained by Jesus

4)· The system of the Church order goes back to ancient times -its focus is mainly onthe ordained ministry of the Biishop, Priest and Deacon.

    5) A firm commitment to the ministry of God both lay and ordained together

    6) A way of Christian knowledge that involves Scripture, Tradition and Reason held together.

    * A little long but I hope this helped.

  12. The width of a cigarette paper.

  13. Roman Catholicism is the belief that Jesus' sacrifice was inadequate, and needs to be re-performed at regular and preferably frequent intervals if there is to be salvation. Anglicanism believes (officially, anyway) that Jesus' sacrifice is complete, and requires only faith to give salvation. Many Anglicans behave like Catholics, hence the confusion.

    .

  14. The Anglican church - Church of England was formed when the pope refused to give Henry VIII another divorce so he could desperately try to have a son.  [Men are stupid]

The Anglican's do not practice confession, do not follow the Pope, allow priests to marry,  Anglicans do not believe in transubstantiation,  Anglicans believe only in Baptism and the Eucharist as sacraments. Catholics believe in seven sacraments - Baptism, Penance, Confirmation, Holy Orders, Marriage, Extreme Unction and the Eucharist.

  16. Divorce, celibacy for the clergy.

  17. Only one real difference I know is - Anglicanism allows to kings to marry whomever they want, According to Catholicism, this permission is prerogative of pope.

  18. Anglicans can use condoms, drink like fish and have the odd flutter.

  19. I presume by Catholic, you mean the Roman Catholic Rite.  In that case, the answer really is, not much.

Anglicans believe themselves to be a part of the catholic and apostolic church and to be a "via media" (middle road) between Roman Catholicism and Protestantism.  The main differences between the two churches are in these areas:

    1.  transubstantiation,

    2.  the reasonableness of withholding of the cup from the laity during communion (not much of an issue anymore),

    3.  clerical celibacy,

    4.  observance of vows of chastity,

    5.  permission for private masses,

    6.  the importance of auricular confession.

The biggest problem with answering your question, however, is that not all Anglicans practice their faith the same way.  We include in our number Low Church, Broad Church, High Church and Anglo-catholics, each with different liturgical practices.  Even the 39 Articles are not universal throughout Anglicansim.

That said, however, the differences are minuscule compared to the similarities.  What we believe to be right and true is what holds us together, not what we believe to be the differences.

  20. When it comes to doctrines the Catholics are united.  Anglicans disagree among themselves.
