  1. CAD: Computer Aided Design

CADD: Computer Aided Design and Drafting

CADD systems are CAD systems with additional drafting capabilities. For example Solidworks allows for the CAD of a solid object to be developed and has a drawing feature that will produce isometric drawings  automatically from the 3d solid object.

Other drafting tools that are incorporated into a CAD system to make it a CADD system are tolerances of measurments, notations

Years ago I would have defined early CAD programs as Computer Aided Drafting as early programs like "Generic CAD" and early releases of AutoCAD (R4) primarily focused on drawing the image with little regard for design intent.   With progress of software development over the years I would agree with the current definition of CAD as being a design environment. You can now maintain design intent in CAD software so that if an obect is stretched/moved other features bound to it will automatically adapt to the modification.  Early systems would require the user to manually move objects to maintain design intent. For example suppose you want a hole 1/4 inch from an edge. If you  moved just that edge further away the user would have to manually move the location of the hole to maintain the desired 1/4 offset. (Obviously the user could move both the hole and the edge at the same time but  these early systems would not allow binding a 1/4 in relationship between the hole and edge as is now possible)

  3.   One is CAD, Computer assisted drawing

The other is CADD, Computer assisted digital drawing.
