  1. Celtic refers to a society that existed in mainland Europe and the British isles during the Iron Age. It also refers to types of folk music around today. In terms of languages, Celtic languages were the earlier versions of Welsh, Scotch Gaeilic, Irish Gaeilge, Bretonne and Cornish and whatever language that was spoken in Northern Spain way back when (pre-Roman Empire).

Gaelic refers to specifically Ireland or Scotland, although we Irish like to make the disinction and refer to the language of Ireland as Irish, Gaeilge, or Erse.

  2. Gaelic is a language, and Celtics are the people who often speak it.  And their culture.

  3. If your referring to languages then Celtic is a family of languages. Its not a single language. Gaelic is also a family of languages and not a single language although its often mistakenly believed to be a single language by people who dont speak a Gaelic language.

The Celtic languages are dived into,

    Gaulish (extinct)

    Celtiberian (extinct)

Goidelic (these are the Gaelic languages)

Brythonic (this family includes Welsh, Breton, Cornish...)

The Gaelic family of languages includes Gaeilge (Irish), Gàidhlig (Scottish Gaelic), Gaelg (Manx).

  4. Celtic is a football team.
