What's the difference between DESIGN and WORLD CLASS DESIGN?

I'm looking for opinions on what lifts design into the realm of world-class.

Nothing. It's just a matter of opinion. If someone claims to be world class and people believe them then who is to argue.

The only think that would back it up is if the designer or design itself had won some major international awards, other than that it just sounds like someone promoting themselves a bit too hard.
