  1. "Full contact" martial arts are many, such as boxing, MMA, puroresu, Muay Thai, judo, and full-contact styles of karate.  Full contact karate and kickboxing look virtually the same, there are only minor differences as far as the rules.

  2. I think full contact karate is bare knuckle, with no punches allowed to the head, while kickboxing wears gloves and you can punch to the head.

  3. You know, I really am not sure. I keep seeing the term "full contact" in all sorts of events such as tae kwon do sparring match, kick boxing, and MMA. But in each of these events the rules are so varying that there seems to be no delineations that separate full contact from anything else.

I can only assume that full contact means you don't have to fear of not pulling your punches, that you can strike as hard as you can. But this is just a guess.

  4. Full contact fighters wear long pants and must meet a required amount of kicks each round.

Kickboxers wear shorts and have no kick requirement

  5. Full contact Karate and Kickboxing are virtually the same.  Check out some video of Chuck Norris' World Combat Leauge for an example. Note that most times, Full Contact Karate takes place in a ring...WCL uses a pit...
