    Goals can't be validated as is; objectives can be validated.

Generally, objectives can be considered the steps that you take to achieve a goal.  As an example, a marketing goal within your organisation may be to increase brand recognition.  Objectives, or the steps to achieve this, may include specific market research or competitor monitoring intentions.  As one of the previous answers mentioned, goals tend to be broad, whereas objectives are a little more refined.
