what's the difference between HD quality and regular quality?

  1. it all has to do with the number of horizontal lines of the picture.  HD uses 1080 and 720 lines of resolution.  regular analog uses about 525.  so more lines equal more pixels which equals better detail and color.  u will see a more dramatic difference with larger tv screens.


  2. I suspect you have never seen a real A/B comparison.

    Find a friend who has Cable and a HDTV. In the evening (when all shows are in HD) go over and bring a six-pack.  Start watching a Network channel ABC, CBS, NBC, etc on the standard def channel.

    After a few minutes - flip to the HD version of the same channel. Watch for 5 more minutes then flip back to the standard def version.

    The difference should be obvious and staggering.

  3. welll HD quality and I mean full HD quality is 1080p of pixels or lines of color.

    while regular quality is only 480i of just pixels and lines

    I don't know how you cannot notice the difference but watch an HD movie for instance on Blu-ray on and HDTV and then watch one on DVD on an HDTV and see the difference.
