I'm really sorry for asking but I really don't know. I can't recognize them. I know that Vietnamese and Filipinos have darker skin and with brighter noses. I can tell who's who for sure talking about Scandinavians, Russians, English, Germans, Serbs and Poles. I can recognize a representative of any of the main ethnicities in those countries right ahead.

  1. I've seen Japanese and Koreans who look "Chinese" so it can be hard to tell. I can generally tell if I overhear them talking and body language reading helps.

Another clue is clothing style. I have noticed mainlander Chinese regardless of income and how long they're been away from China tend to adopt different clothing styles to Japanese and Koreans.

  2. Vietnamese and Filipinos look different because theya re South East Asian same as  Malaysians and Indonesians. If you go to the Philippines, you can see a lot of people who looks Chinese, because we are of Chinese / Taiwanese and Malay descent. The difference is the language, and the culture.

  3. I think the chinese are more yellow than the japanese.....and most of the chinese are tall than the japanese
