I read the ingredients in the store and they both seem to have the same ingredients but do they have the same taste?

  1. Recaito is a Puerto Rican sesaoning that contains culantro (recao), hence the name.  It usually does not contain tomatoes nor annato/achiote but there are many variations.

Sofrito is similar but used in many Latin/Caribbean cuisines and there are also many variations here.

  2. recato shouldnt have tomato but it if said it did then soffrito has more tomato. hense the orange color.

i use recato for arroz con gandules with a little tomato sauce

i think overall recato has more pepper and cilantro flavor then soffrito
