  1. depends on what you mean by regular and by training. there are lots of variations on the two of those.

    TRAINING

bag gloves- there are many types of bag gloves but one thing that they all have in common is they have just a Velcro wrist or they are slip on. bag gloves are for hitting the bag and so often the glove will have the thumb loose so one can hit the timer. also if it has Velcro there will be nothing to cover over the one Velcros strap.

-sparing gloves: these tend to have more padding and the Velcros is covered by an extra layer. this way the Velcro cannot cut your sparing partner

    FIGHTING GLOVES

-Amateur boxing gloves: these are similar to the sparing gloves will a little less padding and are usually 16 oz

-Professional Boxing gloves: Come in many different sizes. They have laces up the middle on the inside which are then covered by tape. the tape over the laces is just like the extra layer over the Velcros on sparing gloves (to ovoid parts of the gloves cutting the other person)

No training gloves cannot be used in a fight b/c they are for a different purpose. Would you use a Flathead screwdriver to put in a Phillips head s***w?

  2. Well usually you train in 14 -16 oz gloves, it cushions the blows for your partner making it more safe to sparr . When you are not training and you are actually fighting you would want to use 10 -12 oz gloves so you can do more damage to your opponent.

  3. I believe the padding.

  4. regular boxing gloves have 8-10 ounces of padding in them(varies by weight class) and training gloves have 14-16 ounces of padding in them, also some newer training gloves have gel in them to do reduce shock damage during sparring
