  1. Here are the main differences. I'll use fast pitch (Olympic style) for softball.

    Length of game - Baseball (9 innings); softball (7 innings)

    A softball is bigger

    A baseball bat is longer

    Baseball field is bigger

    Stealing bases - Baseball (whenever there is a live ball); softball (must be after pitcher is threw).

    Baseball pitchers throw overhand; softball throw underhand
