I know that Taiga is a type of Forests but, whenever you read abotu Taiga, it's always referenced as if it is it's own biome..

  1. A Taiga is a region where it's covered with snow and ice, but still has plantation and animals inhabiting the area. Think of it as the North Pole with Christmas trees and polar bears and penguins.

  2. A biome is a region of similar communities of plants and animals, and which has a specific climate. The taiga is a biome, that comprises the northern part of the coniferous forests region, with relatively few animal and plant species (the southern part of the coniferous forest region is called the boreal forest region, and is characterised by more species of plants and animals).
