  1. A BS is generally more specialized than a BA. BAs will have you do less intensive field-related studies, but more varied subjects (such as having a minor requirement or a second language requirement), while a BS will generally require you to take more upper level Economics (in this case) courses.


  2. Assuming you are comparing within the same institution, as cross-institution it becomes muddy to do so:  BS would have more focused econ requirements.  In particular, generally  much more intense analytical coursework and this would include requiring higher levels of math.  In contrast, the BA would be a more lax program.
