  1. A rotating wall cloud is the extended base of thunderstorm that, well, rotates.

A funnel cloud is a smaller rotating cloud that extends downward from the wall cloud.

If the rotation reaches the ground, then a tornado has formed.

  2. Around the eye of a hurricane or Cyclone, there is a rotating 'wall cloud' region where  gale winds, thick clouds with torrential rain, thunder and lightning prevail.

Funnel cloud is usually associated with tornadoes having a funnel shape and a rotating column of wind. The funnel usually extends to  the ground.
