In the context of real time locating systems and global positioning systems, i'd like to know what's the exact difference between them?
I'd like to think that a position is always a number, and a location is a symbolical place. The GPS is designed to give something a position, which is always a coordinate. A locating system however is able to generate a symbolical place or a x,y,z coordinate to indicate where an object resides.
Please help me out here :-)
