  1. Paint horses are stock bred that originated from quarter horses that had too much white on them to be registered.  Now, the registry is pretty much closed to only registered paints, and I believe they allow crosses with TBs and QHs still.  Pintos, however, are strictly a color registry.  Doesn't matter what background, arab, saddlebred, gaited, pony, you name it....it can be registered pinto if they have the correct color pattern.

  2. Honestly, I don't think there is a difference.  Pinto roughly means paint in Spanish and Latin.  -Pinto beans are called Pintos b/c before they are cooked, they look like they were (sloppily) painted.

  3. hey my name is trish, i looked this question up for you and this is what i got:

Simply put, when someone talks about a Paint horse, they are talking about a breed. But when someone talks about a pinto horse, they are talking about a color.

Hope this helped a little lol, your friend trish

  4. Hi There! Paints have large spots of color on them so it looks like someone forgot to paint the rest of them. Pinto's spots are almost like our freckles but all over the body. Hope this helped -Lily Allen♥☻☺
