don't they both do the same thing? Clean your pores (flush out impurities) and lose water weight (make you sweat)

  1. Sauna is use of DRY heat.

    Steam room uses moist heat.

    Yes... they both make you sweat.

    For some... the dry heat is too intense.

  2. =P

    A suana is a dry heat where as a steam room is a humid heat. Like being in the desert compared to the rainforest. Some people are more comfortable in one then the other, The moisture in the steam room does a faster job at opening your pores and causing you to sweat.  However if you stay in there too long you can overheat much faster then you would in a sauna.

    Also if you have difficulty breathing a sauna is easier to sit in.

    The sauna takes longer to open your pores but you can stay in there longer and once you begin sweating and you leave you will continue sweating.

    When you leave a steam room the moisture cools you off virtually right away.

    its a personal choice whichever one you are most comfortable in.
