  1. never thought of that but i suppose it is more or less the same..

  2. A senator represents an entire state.  Each state has two US Senators.  A congressman represents a congressional district.

  3. each state in the usa is given 2 senators, who serve in the us senate for 6 year terms.  each state is also apportioned a certain number of congressional representatives, who serve in the us house of representatives for 4 year terms.   the house and senate are the two branches of the us congress.  while the correct appellation of a representative is "representative john doe" it has become common to address representatives as congressman john doe.  i suspect this practise evolved because congressman sounds loftier than representative, but this is speculative on my part.  the constitutional role of the us congress is to write the laws, which must then be passed by both branches of congress in order to go to the president for signing or veto.  the number of representatives differs among the states as the number is assigned by population of each state on a pro rata basis.  a census is conducted in the us every 10 years to make sure the population of each state is accurately counted in apportioning representatives.  each state is responsible for drawing a map designating the congressional districts of the state.  the representative is elected by the people living in his district and is supposed to represent the interests of the people living in his district.  senators are elected by people in state-wide elections, consequently elected by voters throughout the state.  the job of the senator is to represent the people of the whole state.  the drafters of the constitution contrived this arrangement so that people from smaller geographical areas (the districts) would have representation in congress, but presumably that would be balanced by the role of the senator whose job it is to represent the entire population of the state.  supposedly this would create a guard against any one region receiving special favour over people of the entire state. the entire constitutional framework is of checks and balances of power in government.

  4. Nothing they're both liars.

  5. A Senator belongs to the US Senate.  Congressman belong to the House of Representatives.

  6. Senator works for the State issues. A congressman is a person that works on federal issues

  7. There are 100 Senators and 355 members of Congress. So Senators represent their entire state

while Congresspeople serve a smaller community.

Senators have six year term. congress two years.

  8. A senator is a congressman who serves in the senate rather than in the house of representatives.
