What's the difference between a business day and a regular day?

A business day is any Mon-Fri  excluding holidays.

Depending on which part of the world you are in, "business day" would be Monday through Friday, generally with parameters of 8:00 am through 6:00 pm local time. If today is Tuesday and you have to perform a specific task (or pay a bill or appear somewhere) within 5 business days, your deadline is the following Tuesday.

If today is Tuesday, the 15th of the month, and you must pay or appear within five days, your deadline is Sunday, the 20th of the month.

When calculating 'business' days, be sure to include legal holidays (according to local regulation or custom) in your calculation.

Also, be sure to read the document carefully to determine if your deadline is '5 business days' or '5 days.' If you have any doubts, contact the person issuing the bill or letter or whatever it is that sets forth a deadline you must meet. And remember, there is a "close of business" parameter, beyond which they are not required to accept your payment or deposit or term paper, or whatever has a deadline.

Business days usually means M-F.  So 10 business days is the same as two weeks.

3 business days is 3-5 days, depending on if you catch a weekend.
