  1. The U-2 and the TR-1 are the same plane.

    However mechanically and aesthetically the same, the TR-1A was built later with side looking radar, newer avionics and improved ECM equipment.  Thirty-three TR-1A's were built.

    The TR-1B was a training plane, only two of which were built.
