  1. that actually depends on the crime itself. some crimes such as murder obviously cannot be misdemeanors, but others such has drug possession, assault, and DUI can be either one. Felonies of course are considered worse crimes than misdemeanors so therefore the punishements for felonies are going to be greater.

    Misdermeanor=jail or probation time

  4. Alex is not entirely correct. You can get a felony and go to county jail. Jail time for a felony can also be for a very short period of time, like perhaps 4 days, maybe even less. The main difference is a misdemeanor is the lesser of the two crimes which means less probation, less fines and much better for the record to have a misdemeanor then a felony.
