  1. A method is a bit more general, usually including several strategies that follow some sort pedagogy or guiding idea about how children/adults learn that is used in multiple subject teaching, i.e. the Montessori method, or the Integrated Thematic Instruction method.  An approach is usually one of those strategies, although it can included several strategies.  Also an approach usually is focused on one subject area, i.e., the reading recovery approach or the cloze approach.
