  1. The word Poltergeist is German for Noisy Ghost.

  2. some "cases" of poltergeist have had people getting injured in some way.  Same goes for some types of ghosts. You can't possibly say that EACH ghost is a nice person who died. Some were bad people and continue to do bad.

I don't believe in this because i haven't seen either of those and there's no evidence to support that they are both real.

  3. Poltergeists are an annoying spirit, that is also noisy. They move things around, and mean you no harm. A normal ghosts is just an entity.

If you have any questions about this topic please e-mail me! I'd be glad to answer your questions.

  4. Or a shadow person

  5. I guess they're the ones who cause the most problems(except for the evil one). Well, I guess they can be bad too. Maybe they're just ghosts (spirits?) who are hyperactive! Maybe they need a psychiatrist...instead of an exorcist. If they don't get "help" ...they probably will just continue being "hyper" at the next house.

I don't know if they're real or not. I just know that SOMETHING  has been causing a lot of ruckus for a lot of people...ever since history has been being recorded.

  6. Poltergeist means "house ghost."

Poltergeists are ghosts that are chained to a house, church, school or even a statue.

    Poltergeists tend to make fun.

Regular ghosts are free to go to where they wish, but tend to stay in the neighborhood.

  7. A polar guy supposedly moves things.  A ghost just sits there.

If you examine all of the forms humans take after death--poltergeist, spirit, ghost, shadow person, etc.--it's hard to see ghosts as anything but invented.

Many people have unsubstantiated theories regarding the "cause" of poltergeists.  Some claim poltergeists are only around adolescent children.  This is nothing more than reverse engineering.

  8. A ghost is the spirit of a dead person. A poltergeist is not a spirit at all but the psychic manifestations of a living person within the area of the poltergeist activity. Often times this person doesn't even know that they are doing it.

  9. not much. They are both just as fake.

  10. poltergeist  are spirits that may have an anger about how they die and may or may not be reluctant to move on, For example a person who has die without natural cause can be upset they did not have a chance to live live out so they react by moving objects or repelling objects. A normal spirit just may want a person to know they are around. For example a loved one has pass away and they want their love ones to know the are around so the do little things to let them know they are present.

  11. Ghosts usually reside peacefully, not getting in anybody's way.

Poltergeists manifest themselves every chance they get, moving objects, trying to be seen and heard, etc.

    Yes, they are both real.

  12. They are basically the same thing. yet a poltergeist manifests by making noise or moving objects. hope i helped! :)

  13. The word poltergeist is German and literally means "noisy spirit".

  14. a poltergeist is typically associated with a teen/pre-teen girl...sometimes boy...they move stuff around and create a lot of havoc.  Other ghosts aren't usually like that.

  15. poltegeist is an invisible force that is potentially violent. Poltegeist usually throws things in your house which is caused by an invisible force. Based on Sprituality  Books, most people supposedly if they die, truths about the universe opens to them, there are times that if the person died not in time(or the person doesn't want to die) and they possess telekinetic powers, they become a poltegeist. Regular ghosts are ghosts that roam in every house that are harmless.

  16. poltergeist , play tricks on you-Ghost  haunt you  and ar usually harmless.

  17. Arwen, I actually thought it was playful ghost as a direct translation from German.

They are both around us. Playful Ghosts are generally the ones that will throw things to catch your attention and may take things or move things to the point of annoyance.

Ghosts generally tend to stay to themselves and not really try to communicate in that same way, they will generally wait for someone to see them. Poltergeists are really just ghosts with extra spirit, no pun intended. LOL

  18. Definition of Poltergiest - Poltergeist  (from German poltern, meaning to rumble or make noise, and Geist, meaning "ghost", "spirit", or "embodiment") denotes a spirit or ghost that manifests itself by moving and influencing objects.

Deifnition of Ghost : A ghost is said to be the apparition of a deceased person, frequently similar in appearance to that person, and usually encountered in places she or he frequented, or in association with the person's former belongings.

So, a Poltergiest is something that can be hardly seen and causes mayham such as throwing a object across the room, making loud banging noises, and in rare cases, physically hurting someone.

A Ghost, is just like a poltergiest except it doesnt cause as much mayham and rarley throws stuff across the room. It just makes noises, haunts, you know the usual...

So thier is little difference between a Ghost and a Poltergiest. The only difference is that the Poltergiest is known to cause more mayham. The Ghost is known to be more clearly seen.

Are they real? You may never know for sure unless you have been visited from them. I, personally believe in them. Although some of the people who claim to have seen them are liers looking for publicity.

It all depends in what you believe in really.

    Hope that helps!

  19. Poltergeist ( a German word) translates (more or less) into English as "noisy ghost". However, most parapsychologist today attribute "Poltergeist activity" not to a ghost or spirit but to RSPK (Recurrent Spontaneous Psychokinesis). This activity is thought to be powered by the PK (psychokinesis) of a person that has unresolved conflicts and does not have a safe and healthy way of expressing these conflicts. This may be why family counseling has an excellent rate of ending such activity or if one is skeptical the counseling allows one to express their conflict and stop tricking their parents for attention. For this reason poltergeist are often associated with teenagers (unresolved conflict) but this is not a requirement and not present in many cases.

The association was first made when Frank Podmore a very skeptical investigator for the Society of Psychical Research attributed all cases of poltergeist to "tricky little boys and girls". Poltergeist activity involves physical movements of objects.

Ghosts (redefined early on as visual apparitions of people known not to be physically present at the location they were see). Ghosts are usually a visual experience (as opposed to hauntings that involve mostly sounds). Ghost usually do not move objects or cause other physical effects.
