  1. By definition, a psychopath has disease of the mind. This person has little or no contact with reality.

A sociopath has disease of society.  This person is unable to adhere to basic "rules" of living in  a group.

  2. trust me my friend is a parcial phycopath because when he gets mad he goes crazy and stabs his walls and talks about who he would hurt. he is also a sociopath because he curses people off, he also doesnt think of any one else other than himself. when it comes down to it he thinks better of himself just because he is smart his life is still f*cked up.

  3. Well, a serial killer is often called a psychopath, unrightfully so (most of the time anyway).

Psychopath or sociopaths are people who have a lack of conscience. Both fail to feel any guilt or remorse and seem to have no fear. They know how you feel through intellectual study, but cannot actually associate these findings with any experience, for they are unable to feel emotions.

The distinction between the two is that sociopaths are disorganized and act rashly, whereas the psychopath is strictly organized, secretive and manipulative. Making the psychopath harder to catch since he doesn't leave evidence behind.

  4. Well i always thought that a Sociopath was someone who lacked concern and regard to human life at all.

And they are usually used interchangably :/

  5. A psychopath is someone who hurts other's for pleasure or for an emotional response(Serial Killer). A sociopath is someone who feels no emotion in the act and hurts others for personal gain or for no real reason at all, but doesn't feel anything as a result of it. A good example of a sociopath would be an assassin who feels no remorse for killing.

  6. They are the same thing and can be used interchangeably. However, by technical definition, neither of them mean anything anymore, as the disorder has been renamed antisocial personality disorder.
