  1. A question is an inquiry that asks for a  reply, the answer can be found and it can be explained.

    Why is the sky blue?

A mystery is something which cannot be explained, it could be a question which answer we know but we can't explain.

Are we alone in the universe?

  2. a question has an answer, while a mystery you have to look for the question

  3. A question is something that an individual doesn't know and is in the process of figuring out from another.

A mystery is something that many have tried to figure out, but couldn't

So i guess to shorten it up..

Question: something that 1 person doesn't know, but can ask another to figure out.

    Mystery: something that nobody knows

  4. ...a question asks for an answer...

...a mystery needs to be solved...

  5. A question implies a lack of knowledge of the receiver.  It is the openness, searching, seeking, pondering act of the intellect, ordered to receive truth.

I always like mystery defined as: a truth or truths partly understood by the intellect, yet not understood fully.  Like an iceberg whose top can be seen above the water, yet the body of it plunges into depths unfathomable and unseen.

  6. LOL.

Cute question; I believe a mystery is more a mental puzzle, while a question is more or less a statement readily answerable by facts, be they observable, or mathematical ones based on the simplest logic.

Logic can not answer a question, because ultimately all philosophical logic is, is a well informed proven opinion based on logical proofs.  That is you follow rules, you have the outcome of the rules, and because the rules are the rules, everyone agrees you are correct, especially based on how you expressed those rules.  Hence the need for Rhetoric, as argued by Plato.  However nothing in logic is ever a "fact."

That is why we need science.
