  1. A leader gives instructions while a role model is someone you learn from.

  2. A leader is someone who inspires others to take their own actions, where a role model is someone people strive to turn themselves into.  Someone like Indra Nooyi, CEO of PepsiCo is an example of a leader because her actions have inspired others to take their companies in more socially responsible directions, as well as inspired her own workers to reach higher in their own efforts to grow and improve their company.
