I'm thinking about entering a PA program but I wonder what's the difference between getting an associates degree in PA or getting a bachelors on PA program?

  1. There are several reasons why you should aim for a PA program with a masters.  1. The schooling is so intense; get rewarded with a degree that reflects that. 2. Recognition: you are competing with other PAs with masters, and nurse practitioners who all have masters.  So its a basic entry dynamics--the more education you have the better off you will be. 3. Medicine in general--MDs etc prefer the higher education.  The degree affords status + prestige.

  2. The time and money invested as well as how in depth the course of study.  Lastly, the amount of money you can ask for (demand) when seeking employment.

  3. The difference is:

    1.  Two to four years

    2.  Differences in the level of education achieved

    3.  Tens of thousands of dollars difference in salary

    4.  Difference in the amount of supervision you will need (or independence in your work)

  4. an associates degree is a 2-year degree and a bachelors is a 4 year degree. a bachelors degree will equip you with more experience for your field of study and hopefully greater career opportunities once you graduate.

  5. an AA is the lowest degree, followed by BA, MA and Ph.D.  Your paycheck will increase according to what degree you have.  For an AA you will go to school for 2 years, a BA 4 years, A masters you will go to school for 4 years, get a BA and then get ur masters (MA) in another 3.  I would say you should go for at least a BA if not more.
