What's the difference between an atheist and a theist?

What's the difference between an atheist and a theist.

P.S. I know this question has been asked before but those questions don't have the straight forward answer I am looking for.

one has faith that God doesn't exist (They consider themselves to be their own gods)

and a theists doesn't make the assumption of that and he states that "I believes there is a God"

atheist......someone who don't believe in the God.

a ..this letter at the first of the word give the opposite meaning.

Both theists and Atheists are believers.

Theists believe in God or Gods, while

Atheists believe that God/s do not exist.

Non of the two positions are proven as theists cannot prove the existence of God/s while Atheists cannot prove the non-existence of God/s.

Agonostics are people who admit and are satisfied to let the question rest by saying that they do not know if God/s exist or do not exist.
